The BMK crew were invited to the pre-screening of the much anticipated local film, “Four Corners” this past Wednesday.  We all know that the movie has been floating around for a few months now, but we were still keen to see it on the big screen. Our fam at Red Bull sorted us out and extended an invite to The German Club for a  screening of the film, a short Q&A with the director, Ian Gabriel, and an exclusive performance of the feature track by our homie Youngsta and co. In all honesty the film received mixed reviews from our side, as you heard our the Radio Show this passed Thursday. Without giving too much away,  we felt it was an honest story, not too explicit but enough to get the true emotion and gang culture across. As a Cape Town based collective it was dope to see parts of Cape Town that people wouldnt usually get to see,  now in a film for the world too see. Props to the Director, actors and crew for pulling  together a film worth watching under heavy budget and time constraints. From the story line riddled with metaphors to the actors  grasp of the  “sabela taal”, we strongly recommend this movie for all to watch, a truly South African story told. One of the most telling comments the director made was:

“The lead character was actually the Cape Flats”

Go check out the film, which hit the cinemas today, and tweet at as your thoughts
