Anelisa Mangcu, creative, tells us 10 things Bitches Must Know. Ready?
1. Events: The Wknd Social
The Wknd Social is the epitome of a dope event. As soon as I was told about the concept, I was sold. One can never go wrong with a boozy Saturday brunch, delicious food, great music and stylish folk. It is a pity I always seem to miss this Joho based event.

2. Food: Beijing Opera
Beijing Opera owned by Yang Zhao is the reason I love my Dim Sum eating experiences. The pop up dinners that she hosts, are always in a different intimate location in the CBD of Cape Town, with people from different areas within Cape Town. If you are a wine and food lover, then this is the place to be.

3. Creatives: UrbanMosadi
The UrbanMosadi backpack range and camera straps were in such demand last year, then in no less than 3 months, everything was sold out. Her upcoming trip to Ghana is mainly to gain a better understanding of the Kente cloth, the culture and heritage.
“I’m going to establish a network between myself and Ghana. It’s all to ensure authenticity with regards to the UM brand. The new range will be ready soon after my trip back from Ghana in March.” – Ms. UrbanMosadi
I am looking forward to the new, limited and improved range of backpacks and camera straps. Get hooked up!

8. Bitches Must Know : Phola Ayanda Gumede aka DJ LoveslavePhola
AM: Who is Phola Gumede / LoveslavePhola?
Phola:I am a pop culture enthusiast and DJ.I’ve been DJing for about just under a year but I can say that I’ve gotten a good following within my social circles. I have always been interested in knowing how to DJ because of my deep embedded love for music not because ‘everybody is doing it’. I was actually taught how to mix by Snitch (Sanele Xolo) and his brother Zamani and word somehow got out that I knew how to DJ then I started getting booked by folk.I predominantly play:
Ignant the likes of Dom Kennedy, Pac Div & The Cool Kids
Commercial hip-hop
Old school R&B / hip hop (anything and everything ranging from the 80s/90s era);
Neo Soul
Kwaito
The Golden Oldies.
I am currently a resident DJ at the Wknd Social, which takes place every mid-Saturday of the month at the Puma Social Club.
I play frequently at gigs such as Authentic Sundays in Soweto and The Love Affair at Taboo.
My biggest gig to date has been the Supremebeing Store Launch gig in Newtown.
